The Sovereign Heart

Many people I see in my clinic struggle to find the joy and happiness that they know they could have in their lives and they don’t understand why they can’t find it. I tell them this story:

The human being is designed to live form the heart. By living from the heart we live with passion, love and joy. We are excited about the things we wish to create in our lives, feel stimulated and challenged by the desire to grow and learn and develop. By living form the heart we are connected to ourselves at a deep level and connected to others openly and honestly and authentically. Love abounds.

The Heart is like the King of the Kingdom (our body). The King creates dreams and aspires to achieve great things. In order to achieve the heart’s desire the king employs the Nervous system as the administrator to carry out the tasks required to achieve the dream. The nervous system directs the functioning of the body and manages the smooth co-operation of all the organs and all is well in the kingdom. The King is secure in love and trust.

But what happens when love is threatened or withdrawn? The King gets hurt and is no longer able to govern the kingdom?  When love is threatened or lost and faith and trust are damaged; Fear and doubt creep in further weaken the King.

Who will take over the responsibility of running the Kingdom?

The nervous system must step up and take control: the administrators become the army!  The army now protects and defends the kingdom from fear. Without faith and trust in the king the army operates from fear and everyone must be vigilant to make sure that the kingdom is safe from any further attacks to it’s king.

The kingdom is now in a state of chaos and all the organs are caught in fight or flight waiting for the King to recover. But while the King is crippled by Fear and doubt the throne is weak. Stress, anxiety and depression now prevails.

Heart-and-head

The challenge for us all is to make sure our heart is strong by maintaining our faith and trust in ourselves with a bond of love.

In my clinic I work with my clients to get the army to lay down its weapons and get back into the office. We support the King to get back on the throne and restore a sense of peace, calm and optimism to the kingdom.
